Questions and answers

Short, practical answers for venue owners and their teams. Can’t find yours? Contact us.

Getting started

What do I need to get started?

An email address and photos or a PDF of your menu. Register, create your venue, pick a template and add your first entries. The 14-day trial runs on the Plus plan and needs no credit card.

Which templates are there?

Restaurant menu, drinks, spa and treatments, activities and excursions, and hotel information. Every template is available on every plan.

Can my team help with editing?

Yes. Invite people as owners, who manage everything including billing, or as editors, who manage content only. Depending on the plan, 1 to 5 team members are included.

Guests and QR codes

Do guests need an app or an account?

No. Guests scan the QR code or tap the link and get a normal web page in their browser. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.

Do QR codes change when I edit the menu?

No. Codes keep working when you rename dishes, reorder, replace PDFs or change what a code opens. You can print them once and keep them.

In which formats can I download QR codes?

As PNG, as SVG for your designer or print shop, and as printable A6 and A5 cards. You can name each code by placement, such as “Table 4” or “Room card”.

Can guests order or pay through MyPictureMenu?

No. MyPictureMenu presents your menus and offers. Ordering, payments and reservations stay with your team and your existing systems. For treatments and activities you can add a link to your own booking system.

Photos and PDFs

Which files can I upload?

Photos as JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 15 MB each, and PDFs up to 20 MB and 100 pages. Storage and the number of PDF documents depend on your plan.

I don’t have good photos yet. Can I still start?

Yes. Start with your PDF or with photographed menu pages, and add dish photos over time. The demo images in our examples are placeholders too.

Can search engines read my PDF menu?

Only if the PDF contains real text. Scanned or photographed pages are images, and search engines don’t automatically read text in images; screen readers can’t either. A short text summary or entries for your main dishes help.

Languages, prices and allergens

How do translations work?

You write the translations yourself; there is no automatic translation. If a text isn’t translated yet, guests see it in your main language. Depending on the plan, you can offer 2 to 10 languages.

Which currencies can I use?

Each venue sets its own currency, for example CHF, EUR, USD or IDR. Prices are shown as you enter them and are never converted.

How are allergens shown?

As the text you provide for each dish. MyPictureMenu doesn’t check or certify allergen information, and guests are always asked to speak to your staff about allergies or intolerances.

Billing

What does it cost?

Plans start at CHF 39.00 a year or CHF 3.90 a month per property. Every feature is included on every plan. Prices in CHF. No VAT is charged (not registered for Swiss VAT).

What happens after the trial or if I cancel?

If you cancel, your catalogue stays online until the end of the paid period. If a trial or plan ends, the catalogue is paused and your content is kept privately for 30 days for export or activation. Deletion happens only on your request.

Privacy

Do you track my guests or show ads?

No. Guest pages set no cookies, contain no tracking and show no advertising. You see approximate, aggregated counts of views and QR-code opens per day — nothing about individual guests.

More detail: pricing and billing terms, PDF menus, privacy policy.
